I would like to warmly welcome you to this month’s newsletter and thank you again for your positive feedback while announcing the launch of our Funding Campaign ‘ A Dollar A Day To Keep AFFMA Underway‘.
As AFFMA enters its third year since it was established in 2013, just two months before the government’s announcement to cuts in funding/no funding to all charities,it is facing an uncertain future and its very existence and the provision of its services to asylum seekers and refugees are at risk.
The initial funds we had secured privately in 2013 to keep AFFMA going have dried up.
In order to continue the provision of our services to these vulnerable groups of men, women and children, we need your assistance and you kind donation of just One Dollar A Day.
AFFMA will be calling all our newsletter subscribers and the public at large from Monday 07 September to ask for a $1 a day donation for the next 120 days to 29 December 2015, to enable us to continue our pro bono fee-free crucial humanitarian work.
Every donation over $2 is tax-deductible and will allow AFFMA to continue to act as a bastion for some of the most vulnerable individuals in our current political climate.
Please consider making a contribution and keep in mind that AFFMA does not pay wages. We are run 100% by volunteer lawyers, migration agents, university students and other professionals who just want to lend a hand.
We will also launch a crowdfunding campaign on our website and Facebook by mid-September and will update our subscribers by email.
Please read the article below ‘ Help AFFMA continue its crucial humanitarian work‘ written by the newsletter team for more details about how much a dollar a day means to us.
Thank you in advance for your kind support.
