What advice does AFFMA provide?

AFFMA provides advice to financially disadvantaged people in NSW regarding most refugee and humanitarian visas.
Who can use AFFMA’s advice services?
Any person in NSW who is financially disadvantaged (before receiving advice from our centre you will be asked to provide some information regarding your financial status) and is an actual or potential applicant, sponsor or proposer for an Australian refugee or humanitarian visa will be able to use AFFMA’s advisory services.
When & where to get free advice from AFFMA
AFFMA provides free immigration advice and assistance to financially disadvantaged people in NSW through the following advice services:
- Face to face advice
These consist of monthly sessions where we provide a walk-in service for eligible clients in need of migration advice.
- Telephone advice
These consist of weekly sessions during which persons in need of migration assistance can call in and speak with a registered migration agent.
- Ongoing assistance and representation
AFFMA considers cases against our guidelines on a case by case basis to determine whether a person is eligible for ongoing assistance.
