The AFFMA team would like to extend its hospitality and set out the purpose of AFFMA.
AFFMA works to provide pro-bono assistance for refugee applicants who are seeking to apply for a Protection Visa (subclass 866) or a Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (subclass 790). Our registered migration agents and lawyers provide free immigration advice to financially disadvantaged people (in New South Wales) who are eligible for a protection visa.

In more recent news, and for the sake of clarification, we would like to inform you that AFFMA will be restructured and will offer its services fully online from 01 February 2018. In light of this, we request that you consider this transition in accepting your offer to work here. The move online might make positive changes to the functionality and process of working with clients and we need you to be aware of the situation and how it could affect your commitment.
Furthermore, to make it easier for AFFMA to offer its services to protection visa applicants, we ask that volunteer migration agents commit for a minimum of 12 months and agree to work as efficiently as possible to take on at least 5 protection cases/per annum. For the migration agent who will be working from their home and/or office, AFFMA will gladly reimburse them $100 per application as a reimbursement for printing, stationery, telephone calls and any other miscellaneous fees. In this regard, there is no need for agents to send us a tax invoice as this is a reimbursement.
With regards to Registered Migration Agents (RMAs) who plan to register as a pro bono agent, AFFMA will help with issuing a cover letter to them in order to facilitate his/her registration with Migration Agents Registration Authority (MARA). Additionally, RMAs will be automatically covered by AFFMA’s professional indemnity and will have access to AFFMA’s professional library saving them over $3,000 in commercial registration/per annum.
