A warm welcome to this month’s issue and thank you again for your positive feedback.
One of the most important activities in AFFMA’s Calendar in 2015 is the Refugee Week events held from 14 to 20 June.
Let us reflect on the different pasts of all refugees and the common future we share together. Let us remember the difficult journey these children, women and men have gone through before even commencing their new journey to our lucky country. These vulnerable people entrusted us with their lives and we were able to give them a second chance in Australia where they can live without fear of persecution or prosecution. Let us celebrate the great contributions they make to Australia, and promote understanding of different cultures and backgrounds.
I take this opportunity as well to thank all the volunteers and board members, past and present, for their commitments and dedication to AFFMA.
